Matt's New Baby!

Matt got a kayak! He brought it home yesterday. Who is ready to go out with him? Not me! Too cold! I don't think I will be getting in any time soon, but he is super excited and I am happy for him! The kids had fun crawling all around in it and pulling at the strings. Anna is very interested in the fishing that goes on in our neighborhood lake so I think a father-daughter fishing trip is needed!

A Little Thanksgiving..

I was too lazy to load the pictures one by one, so here is a little collage. We don't have very many Thanksgiving pictures because the kids were pretty terrible. There was never a moment when we thought, "Oh, that is sooo cute! Grab the camera!". They both had colds pretty much the whole time we were out of town. Matt and I would like to blame their behavior on that, but this week the colds are gone and they are still acting rotten...

I have a new signature and banner! I am learning how to photoshop!

I Got It!!

It is a long story of how I got it, but I finally got Matt to let me have someone clean out the front beds and add tons of mulch! They even cleaned around the two trees in the front yard and mulched around them. I. Love. It. And he may never admit it, but he loves it too!

Okay it really doesn't look like much in these pictures because it is a dreary day, but it looks great in person!

Bathtime...

Bathtime at our house last night was interesting to say the least. I got Anna in the tub and called for Sam to come in so I could strip him and put him in. When he finally came running in to the bathroom I guess my back was turned because when I looked back at the tub this is what I saw...

I then yelled for Matt to come help hold him in the air while I pull his pants and his diaper off. Matt came in and as I'm pulling off Sam's pants I mention what a bummer it would be if our little prankster had a poopy diaper. I probably don't even have to tell you the rest, OF COURSE THE DIAPER WAS POOPY!! That's how things work for us!! We had a good laugh on that one, Sam definitely keeps us on our toes!

Is That My Hairbrush?

I never posted pics of the kids in their Halloween costumes. Anna Banana was Minnie Mouse, and Sambo was dressed as Captain America. They both actually loved to wear their costumes which shocked me because I thought Sam would be ripping his off at the first chance he got! I came across these pictures today and had to post them. Sam is running around in his outfit, looking to save the world with...my hairbrush! I have to say though, after looking at this picture closer, I agree with Sam. Anna could use a "rescue" :) Must have been a bad hair day for her!

We are Proud to Say...

That Anna is a full-time underwear wearer!!!!! We are saying goodbye to this diaper holder once and for all. I have been carrying it around for weeks without having to use it, and I decided to finally put it away. It sounds silly but I even remember who gave this to us after Anna was born. I have loved it and used it every day.
Anna, we are so proud of you and your accomplishment. You are such a big girl, and you amaze us EVERY DAY!!

I Thought She Wouldn't Do It...

Anna surprised me and got on the swing with Kinley to Spider Swing. They had fun! She usually doesn't try new things without throwing a little fit, but when Jess asked her if she wanted to do it she said yes, I was shocked!

Zoo Trip

Yesterday we went to the Houston Zoo with our neighborhood playgroup. The kids had fun and the weather was great! We got to see the brand new baby elephant, sooo cute! For the finale we rode the train. We had never done that before and Anna and Sam really enjoyed it. It was a great ending to a fun day. Sam fell asleep before I pulled the car out of the lot!

Anna and Scarlett watching the elephants.

The new baby elephant is on the ground under the mama. She was in the sun so the mama came and stood over her to shade her. It was very sweet!

Some of the kids lined up waiting for the train.

Anna was very excited to get to hold her ticket and give it to the lady to get on the train. I was nervous she would drop it and it would blow away!

We are ready to ride the train!

Mimi and Pop's New House

This weekend we went to Lake Charles to help my parents with their new house. This is the first time the kids had been to see the house. They had fun playing in the yard and running around checking things out.

We played a little tee ball outside.
Daddy tried to show off...

...and he hit the ball up into the gutter!

Big yard, lots to explore!

Mimi got Anna this new butterfly outfit and she ran through the house with it on so fast we could barely catch her!

Miss Independent...

At one point today Anna had on tennis shoes that matched, and her hair was pulled back in a neat little pony tail. Then this afternoon she decided she didn't need the ponytail. So that is how we got the straggly look. Then when Matt took them out after dinner, and she needed shoes, she HAD to wear her new black shoes. She definitely could NOT wear the matching tennis shoes. And the socks HAD to be white. Ugg...

Last week Matt was gone the whole week...YUCK!! We spent a lot of time at the park. Here are a couple pics.

Anna also helped me make cookies. She loves to help me bake! She is very good at dumping things in and helping me crack the eggs. Thank you Ms. Nikki for helping me see that I could trust my little Anna to help!!! We had a lot of fun!

Cute Random Video

This video cracked me up when I saw it. We were watching the Tigers play, and Anna does her cheer, and it is so cute. The best part though is in the background where Sam is quietly playing...with Anna's little toilet!

Our Frugal Fotography Session

Last week we had a photo session with our friend Jess Coleman of Frugal Fotography. She and the kids did a great job!! We set up a tea party for Anna down by the lake and playground in our neighborhood. She loved it! Especially the cupcake part :) She even let Sam sit with her for a minute.

This was Anna's face when she discovered there were ducks coming over to check things out!

Thank you Ms. Jessica for taking our picture and Thank you to Ms. Rachel for enhancing some of the pictures. Everything came out GREAT!!!!!

Since it was so hot outside Saturday we decided to go to the zoo! The kids had fun, and we can't wait until it is a little cooler so we can go again. It was worth the heat because we got to see Anna and Sam's cousin.

Anna REALLY wanted to see elephants. She kept yelling, "There's the elephants!" every time she saw an animal. She yelled it when we got to the giraffes, and the okapi. People were stopping and looking around to see where elephants were! We finally found them, and she stood watching them for a while and then yelled, "He's pulling weeds Mommy!" He was eating a pile of grass. So cute!

Pointing out elephants to Sam.

Pointing out elephants to Daddy.

Mission accomplished! He took a gooood nap!
