She's Almost Got It!

First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANNY (Kari)!!!!! I know you won't see this for a while, but we are really sorry that you and baby Noah are without power right now. I know this is not how you wanted to spend your birthday. Because of these circumstances I will not make fun of how OLD you are today :)

Anna is almost crawling at a steady pace. She is definitely a girl who goes for what she wants. Her determination to crawl amazes us. She never gave up, it was getting painful to watch! She hasn't perfected the speed yet, but she can get around enough to give mommy a run for it!

On the hurricane front, things are not pretty! Our families back home are roughing it to say the least. The report we got today stated that the power could be out weeks. This is not good news! That is a very long time to go with no power. My poor Kari is 7 months pregnant and I'm pretty sure living with no power for the last few weeks of pregnancy was not on her list of things to try! We are praying that our families don't overheat, and we are praying that we can see them soon, and that everyone stays safe! Matt and I are considering bringing a load of stuff to Lake Charles this weekend if we can get close, but we have to be sure there is gas along the way for whoever comes to meet us. Everyone needs gas cans for the generators (and gas), and most of the stores that are open don't have a large supply of food at this point. My parents have requested a window AC unit and a loaf of bread! We may try to get it to them.

Anna's Shoes

I decided to start putting shoes on Stinker every now and then. We put little booties on her for her Baptism and she spent the whole time trying to kick them off. She was not used to the feeling of something on her feet! I hit a sale at Dillard's and got her a couple of pairs. She kept them on for a while before kicking them off, they were cute! She is becoming quite the mover. I'll have to take video of her latest trick and upload it. I now put her on the floor to play and when I turn around she is on the other side of the room. My purse has become her destination of choice! Time to start putting it up high, along with everything else!

6 Month Check-Up

Today Anna Claire had her six month check up. No pictures today. She is sleeping peacefully after her dramatic morning. Our pediatrician is leaving so this was our last visit with her :( She said Anna was doing great. Sitting up, babbling, rolling, over, and trying to crawl. She put on quite a show for Dr. Tamm and the nurse. She weighed in at 20 pounds, and is 28 inches long! We are so proud of our little girl, and spent most of the weekend just watching her try to crawl. She is amazing!

Playdate

Today we went to a playdate at Harry and Christina's house. Anna had fun! It was the first playdate that she could actually sit up by herself and play with the other kids without me worrying about her falling over!

Anna wanted a bite of Harry's magazine!

Anna Outplanks Daddy!

So, baby girl is over trying to crawl. Now she gets up on her feet and hands. Not her hands and knees. She does this ALL DAY. I am starting to get nervous. I am not sure she will crawl at all...what if she just walks around on her hands and feet? That is going to look a little strange. She will have abs of steel. I can barely do one plank and she can do them for hours.

Daddy does planks with Anna. A little father-daughter bonding if you will.

Uh oh, where did Daddy go?

"Ha! Daddy is tired so now he takes pictures of me."

"I could do this all night, this is nothin."

Bye Bye Bouncer :(

It is with a sad heart that we have to report that the bouncer is about to be stored away. Anna has thoroughly enjoyed it!! She bounced in it, played in it, ate the dragonflies, and listened to the song it played over, and over, and over again. I don't think I'll ever get that song out of my head. In the first few weeks of her life when she wouldn't sleep in her bed, she slept in the bouncer. It has been a lifesaver!!!

And now she sits up in it! She will NOT recline in it! Today I had to take her out and just let her sit up on the floor to watch her Baby Einstein video.

Kari's Shower

I think anyone that knows me, knows that Kari is my very best friend! This weekend we had a baby shower for her in Baton Rouge. She got a ton of good stuff! I can't wait to meet Noah, I know Kari will be an awesome mom. We have done everything together and now we will be moms together, I can't wait!

Me, Kari, Erin, and Kim

Kari with her mother-in-law and her mom.

Hmm...that stroller seems to be missing two very important pieces!

Kim and Anna after the shower. Matt brought her back to the house after the shower so we could show her off!
