Samuel Proctor, Trumpet Virtuoso

This morning Sam surprised me with a serenade.  This performance was entirely unprompted.  This is a talent that he has developed and perfected entirely on his own accord.  Each day our children delight us by sharing new-found skills.

The Cootie Cloud...and San Antonio

So we have had what I call a "cootie cloud" above our house for the past several weeks.  Most of those weeks Matt has been out of town.  Oh, how I love cleaning up vomit and diarrhea while managing the house all by myself...NOT!  This is in no certain order, but this is what we have been dealing with: stomach bug lasting 5-7 days, strep throat, and a horrible upper respiratory virus that ends in your eyes.  Anna was the only one with strep, but both of the kids had the stomach bug (not on the same week), and both got the upper res. virus.  I thought they had a bad cold then pink eye but the doc set me straight!  Matt and I never got the stomach bug, but we were lucky enough to get the virus.  I am knocking on wood, but I think the cloud is lifting.  I started cleaning up puke on April 2nd, and as of right this minute it has been a full 72 hours since I have broken out the "puke bucket".  Now, on to the pictures...don't worry there are no pictures of bodily fluids!  We went to see Shamu last weekend.  I was on the tail end of the virus, my eyes were red and looked horrible but I had booked the mini vacay and we were going!!  Plus we went with a couple of great families and the kids were really looking forward to it, we needed it!

Waiting for the show to start!

Aunt Jessie's Birthday Party!

This Good Friday was my sister's birthday. We celebrated by boiling crawfish and playing outside all day. It really was a great day, until Sam woke up from his nap, but we won't get into that now...

The wonderful cookie cake. Her name was spelled right and everything! One year it said Jeffie :)
The crawfish were big, and kept the kids entertained until it was time for the boil!

Fun games, and family time!

YUM!!

Sam's happy place!

Happy birthday little sister! We enjoyed the day, hope you did too!

Anna Keeps Us Laughing...

As usual this week, both kids have been entertaining Matt and I with the funny things they say. I just wanted to get some of these down before I forget...

At the dinner table the other night:

Anna: "I have a daughter."
Me: "Oh really? What is her name?"
Anna: "Delilah"
Me: "Well, I'm way too young to be a Grandma, so those words better not come out of your mouth for another 20 some years!"
Anna: "You're too young to be a Grandma?"

In the Wal-Mart parking lot the other day:

Anna: screaming at the top of her lungs-" OOOOH Mommy, look, a SEAL, I see a SEAL!!!"
Me: "Umm...that's a bird."
Anna: " Oh, well, it looked like a seal."

Some Birthday Pics...

We had Anna's 4th birthday party a couple of weeks ago. She loved opening all of her presents and bouncing with friends!

I love that all the kids gather around and watch the birthday girl or boy open presents! They all get so excited and love to see their present get opened. Anna is so lucky to have such sweet friends!

Nanna made Anna a princess cake. It was beautiful and she loved it! She thought it was pretty cool when we pulled the doll out of the middle and she could play with it!

She also got a house from her Nanna and Grandpa. Anna and Sam play in it almost every day! Thank goodness the weather is getting warmer!

Mardi Gras...and Anna's New Bike

This is mainly a post of pictures from Mardi Gras. Some of them are from the family parade on Sunday and some are from the parade on Mardi Gras day. Matt was out of town for the Tuesday parade so he isn't in very many pics! We had fun on Tuesday watching the parade from the Safety Council building. They had an area blocked off for us to watch the parade- and they fed us dinner! We really appreciated the hospitality. Clean bathrooms and a parking space are hard to come by on a parade route :)

My little trouble makers playing in the netting they were using to block our area off.

Anna wasn't feeling it Tuesday night so she sat in the chair for most of the parade. People were throwing roses and stuffed animals at her along with the beads and candy, but nothing really impressed her. Every party has a pooper...

Daddy and Anna Banana at the parade Sunday.

Mimi got cotton candy Tuesday and the kids did not like it! I don't think Anna even tried it. She just kept touching it, I think the texture freaked her out !

Sam held his hand up there for every float that went by. He LOVED catching beads, candy, and toys!

We played at the park before the parade Sunday and little man got tuckered out. I love that he still loves to be held and snuggle!

The prize catch for Sam. I'm not sure what it is, but he was really happy about it!

Bike Pictures...
Sam is happy Anna got a bike for her birthday because now the red bike is all his. In fact when mom pulled the bike out of her car Sam happily yelled, "Now the red bike is ALL mine!" Can you tell sharing is not his thing right now?

Anna on her new bike. She wants to ride it everywhere- to school, to the store, out to eat, everywhere!

Lake Charles Christmas

This weekend we had Christmas in Lake Charles! The kids got some new toys to play with, and had fun playing outside. Sam's favorite was his leaf blower. His face was priceless! I think Anna's favorite present were her new princess shoes. I can't wait for this weekend when Santa comes!
