Aunt Essie's Birthday!

Earlier in April we celebrated Aunt Jessie's birthday. We went home for the weekend and ate at The Hilltop, YUM! Then we went back to Mimi and Pop's house for cake, YUM, YUM!! Hope you had a great birthday Aunt Essie!

Anna Banana

Anna and I were in the car today killing time while the house showed. Well, it was supposed to be showing, but that is another story! Anyway, she was talking to me and it dawned on me that we have conversations! Don't get me wrong- I realize she has been talking for a long time. But every now and then she initiates conversation, and it hits me- I made that! She is my daughter, and there she sits talking to me! WOW! What she said wasn't earth shattering, but I'll share it anyway for those of you still reading...

"Mommy, do you see those birds? Right there, right there!"

"Yes, Anna I see them"

"Those are yucky, yucky birds, right Mommy?"

I laughed and said yes. The reason she says that is because the parking lot of the grocery store I frequent has these black disgusting birds everywhere. They scare me, and I jump when I see them so I told her once they were yucky. Ever since then every bird we see is a "yucky, yucky bird". She has an excellent memory!

Other frequent phrases and Annaisms...

She pats Sams back and says "Anna's a gooooood sister!"

Sam cries and she shakes her head and says "poor Sam"

Thanks to Mimi she now uses the phrase "you're a hot mess!" I'll never forget the look on my Dad's face when she told him that!

My mom is coming this weekend and Anna has said several times that when Mimi comes she will blow bubbles with Anna. I hope Mimi brings bubbles!

Three Down, One to Go!!

Today was the Windrose Playgroup Easter Egg Hunt, Anna's third one of the week!

Here are some of the kiddos getting instructions on how many eggs they can get. They sat very patiently!

Sam found his Nemo egg and was happy the rest of the day. Thank you Aunt Jessie for coming along and helping us get eggs!

Anna still has her school party tomorrow and then I think the hunts are over!

My Paparazzi Friends...

Yesterday we had a fun day at the park with our great friends. Thank you Jess for putting all of the eggs together for the kids! While I was going through the pictures Matt made a comment about the paparazzi being there. I had to laugh because that is exactly what it looked like! When we get together and the kids are being cute (which happens a lot with this bunch) the big cameras come out. I poke fun, but secretly hope to be an owner of one of these fabulous cameras one day! Thanks girls for forwarding me your great pics of my kids!

Elmo!

Matt's parents got Anna tickets to the Sesame Street Elmo show for her birthday. It was a couple of weeks ago in Baton Rouge. Anna was very serious at first but she warmed up pretty quick! We were very close to the stage and the characters came out onto the floor many times to wave to the kids and dance with them. Of course Anna would have none of that, but it was fun to watch the kids around us react! Thank you Nanna and Grandpa!

Spring Fling

This weekend our neighborhood had a Spring Fling. We decided to go check it out. Anna did NOT want a picture with the Easter Bunny so we have none of those. She was a little shy about the Egg Hunt. Not sure if she was really supposed to take the egs that weren't hers! After a little prodding she went and got TWO!! Then she took a train ride with Daddy. It was a good day. The kids took a nice nap!

Here is Sam later that afternoon. He carried that ball around like a dog for a while, and then just crawled up on Matt for a rest. He is a funny little boy!
