GEAUX TIGERS!!

He is ready for football season. 19 MORE DAYS!!!

Saturday after we played with some friends I took the kids over to see Mike at LSU. I enjoyed driving through campus and showing the kids where some of my classes were and where Kari and I used to work. We have only taken the kids a couple times and they LOVED seeing Mike!

Splash Pad!

Friday we met Kari, Noah, and Avery at the splash pad for some water fun! They liked it and played for a good 45 minutes then they were ready to leave and have lunch. They didn't last as long as I'd hoped, but it was hot so I didn't mind leaving!

Now I Can Have a Knife...

There are so many things I need to blog about, but lately Sam has been doing and saying some things that need documenting!

His latest obsession is with being a "Big Boy". So we were eating out a while back and as usual he was grabbing at EVERYTHING on the table. He grabbed the knife and we of course took it from him and explained that knives are dangerous and he would have to be a big boy before he could have one at the table. Fast forward a few weeks and he comes up to me one day out of the blue and says, "Mommy, I a big boy?" I tell him yes, he is a big boy. Then I use that opportunity to explain that soon as a big boy he will go on the potty, and sleep in a big boy bed, and all kinds of fun big boy stuff. He then smiles hugely and says to me, "Mommy, I big boy...I can hab knife!" I thought it was pretty smart of him to remember that and put it together. I also found it a little scary...
He reminds us that he is a big boy and should have a knife every few days. Don't worry we aren't handing one over anytime soon :)

He is also a terrible dancer, and he loves to dance! I have yet to get it on video.

He eats chicken nuggets, and that is pretty much the only regular in his diet. Everything else is hit or miss.

He has no fear.

He climbs everything. EVERYTHING. And if there is something he can't reach he drags a kitchen chair over to it, or stacks things high enough to climb and reach.

He is sweet, and I hear several times a day, "I lub you Mommy!" If Anna hurts herself he always checks to make sure she is ok, he loves his big sis!

Anna and Sam are loving their playroom and I am enjoying listening to them play up there and talk to each other. They are best buds.

Summer Fun!

Here are some random pictures of things we have been up to this summer since we got home from the beach...

This weekend Mom came over from Lake Charles so we could shop! We found rugs and fabric, we hung a few things on the walls, and I am super excited to see all the changes in the house! Sunday afternoon we went over to her friend's house for some good food and swimming fun. The kids loved it, and Ms. Kim showed me how to recover my chairs. Yay!

Here is one of the chairs. It looks better in person, but it is much better than the stained cushions that are underneath!

Anna and Sam thought this was the baby pool, and had fun swimming and playing in their own little area. They are too funny!

We have been hanging stuff on our bare walls...
I found fabric to have curtains made for the kitchen...

Anna has been LOVING her princess dance class. This is her in the Ariel costume she wears for ballet and tap. Next we are going to take the Tinkerbell class.

Since Aunt Jessie has been off this summer the kids are getting to spend extra time with their "Essie". So far it has been a good summer. I am a little ready for both of the kids to go back to school, but I am loving all of the fun things we are doing together!

Beach!

Last week we went on our family vacation to Gulf Shores, AL. We had a blast and did NOT want to come home! These pictures are out of order, but I thought it appropriate to start with our best family photo. Go ahead and zoom in. It's priceless :)

Daddy and Anna flying a kite. Anna got to hold the string, she loved it!

The state park about four miles down was on fire for the first few days we were there. This was a picture of it when it was "under control". I wasn't so sure!

Anna had her goggles and was ready to swim. She and Sam put on their floaties every day and swam their hearts out. They were little fish!

Some Pictures

Hi all! Guest blogger, Matt, here. I'm just fooling around trying to put animated gifs on the blog for the first time. If you're interested in adding one to your blog, I created this one using picasion.com. Enjoy.

Kayak Fun With Friends

The weekend we took the kayak out with friends! Sam and Luke loved it, but the girls weren't interested so we hung out at the park and watched.

Luke was ready to go!
