Fun Weekend!

This weekend was a big tailgate weekend for Matt and I . We went out to the stadium Saturday afternoon and had a great time!!! Thank you Carrie and Johnny for hosting us at your tailgate spot!!

Carrie and Jenn

Mom and Jess play a game that I don't know the name of. I just called it balls. You had to throw balls and hook them on poles. I was NOT good at this game!!

Johnny made us some great food! We had armadillo nuts and boudin- YUM!

People even bring their dogs out!

Me and Jess

Matt stretching for beer pong. It is serious business, you don't want to pull a muscle or anything.
Matt and David John play on a team. I believe they won this game (of course).

The band marches out. They are AWESOME!!

There is nothing like Tiger Stadium on a Sat. night!

And none of these pictures would be possible unless we had stopped at R. Shack to pick up a new memory card. Oops! I forgot it at home! That is why there are no pictures of Anna. We visited with Matt's grandparents Sat. before heading out to LSU and did not have a memory card to take pictures of it. Thank you Matt, for stopping, I know you weren't happy about it!

GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Today Anna played with her LSU Jock in the Box and LSU doll to get in the spirit for the big game tomorrow. I know we haven't been posting a lot lately, but I promise to take a bunch of pictures this weekend to post. We are going to visit Matt's parents and go to the LSU game. They play MSU. I hope the weather is nice, I can't wait to see everyone at the tailgate!! Geaux Tigers!!

Hmmm...

Well, Anna and I were in Baton Rouge for a whole week and I only have a couple of pictures. Matt was out of town so we were only going to stay a few days, but then Ike came and we had to stay. The week started out great!
We went to my favorite place: Mike Anderson's. Mom and Dad took me there for my birthday dinner. They made me where a crown. I didn't care as long as I got my Crawfish Dinner. Crawfish Dinner consists of crawfish cooked 7 wonderful ways. (Au gratin, Bisque, cocktail, etouffe, fried, stuffed in a mushroom, and in another sauce that I don't know the name of). When Matt and I were dating and he was working in MS at the power company he would come home for the weekend and take me to Mike Anderson's to eat. We went almost every Friday. That is when I knew I was in love...with the crawfish dinner, YUM!

The birthday queen.

My princess.

Mimi got her a doll to play with. A much better addition to the toy bucket! It is quiet unlike the favored Elmo Guitar.

Stinker Provides Hurricane Relief...

Today Anna and I went to Lake Charles to bring mom and Jess some supplies. They will need them if their electricity doesn't come on soon, or another hurricane pops up. We only took a few pictures, we all got up at 5 am and even those of us with electricity weren't looking too good!We enjoyed a good meal and then went our separate ways.

The worst of the damage (not really): The DAIRY QUEEN sign is ruined!!!! Gustav punched a bunch of holes through it!

She's Almost Got It!

First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANNY (Kari)!!!!! I know you won't see this for a while, but we are really sorry that you and baby Noah are without power right now. I know this is not how you wanted to spend your birthday. Because of these circumstances I will not make fun of how OLD you are today :)

Anna is almost crawling at a steady pace. She is definitely a girl who goes for what she wants. Her determination to crawl amazes us. She never gave up, it was getting painful to watch! She hasn't perfected the speed yet, but she can get around enough to give mommy a run for it!

On the hurricane front, things are not pretty! Our families back home are roughing it to say the least. The report we got today stated that the power could be out weeks. This is not good news! That is a very long time to go with no power. My poor Kari is 7 months pregnant and I'm pretty sure living with no power for the last few weeks of pregnancy was not on her list of things to try! We are praying that our families don't overheat, and we are praying that we can see them soon, and that everyone stays safe! Matt and I are considering bringing a load of stuff to Lake Charles this weekend if we can get close, but we have to be sure there is gas along the way for whoever comes to meet us. Everyone needs gas cans for the generators (and gas), and most of the stores that are open don't have a large supply of food at this point. My parents have requested a window AC unit and a loaf of bread! We may try to get it to them.

Anna's Shoes

I decided to start putting shoes on Stinker every now and then. We put little booties on her for her Baptism and she spent the whole time trying to kick them off. She was not used to the feeling of something on her feet! I hit a sale at Dillard's and got her a couple of pairs. She kept them on for a while before kicking them off, they were cute! She is becoming quite the mover. I'll have to take video of her latest trick and upload it. I now put her on the floor to play and when I turn around she is on the other side of the room. My purse has become her destination of choice! Time to start putting it up high, along with everything else!
